GRAACC Children’s Hospital

Description

Our institution was established in Vila Clementino, in the southern part of São Paulo. In its 31
years of existence, we have established ourselves as a reference hospital for the treatment of
highly complex cases of childhood and adolescent cancer, and we treat patients from all states in
the country and also from Latin America.

We are accredited by the Ministry of Health as a High Complexity Oncology Unit for pediatric care.
In 2017, we received the seal from the Joint Commission International (JCI), an international
hospital accreditation that recognizes health organizations that follow the best international
hospital practices.

Our hospital was created with a clear purpose: to provide every possible chance of a cure to the
greatest possible number of children and adolescents with cancer, with quality of life. That is why
we exist and we spare no effort to guarantee hope of a cure to our patients.

In this age group, the disease has rapid growth. Therefore, it is important that the diagnosis is
made as early as possible, and that the treatment is carried out in specialized medical centers,
such as ours.  We currently have an average cure rate of 72%.

Housing Information

The Ronald McDonald

The Ronald McDonald House Program acts as a “home away from home” for children and adolescents with
cancer, as well as their families, during treatment. Many patients live far from the hospital where
they are being treated, sometimes even in other states. That is why Ronald McDonald House offers
free accommodation, food, psychosocial support and
transportation to the families who need it most.
