Description
The mission of the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) Mattel Children’s Hospital is to provide state-of-the art treatment for children in a compassionate atmosphere, as well as conduct research that improves the understanding and treatment of pediatric diseases. Mattel Children’s Hospital UCLA, one of the highest-rated children’s hospitals in California, is a vital component of Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, ranked the fifth best hospital in nation and best in the western United States by U.S. News & World Report.
The Pediatric Brain Tumor Center at Mattel Children’s Hospital is a multi-disciplinary comprehensive program focused on improving the cure and the quality of cure in infants, children and young adults with primary brain and spinal cord tumors. Every patient is delivered individualized therapy based on input from pediatric neurosurgery, pediatric oncology, radiation oncology, neuroradiology, stem cell transplant, neurology and neuropathology. Each child receives family-centered care that focuses on the needs of the patient and family as a whole. Our team is supported by excellent professionals in psychology, social work, nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, audiology and school rehabilitation.
Through laboratory and clinical research, the goal of the Pediatric Brain Tumor Center at Mattel Children’s Hospital is to develop innovative clinical treatments for children with brain and spine tumors that result in improved survival with less long-term toxicity and better quality of life.
*UCLA Mattel Children’s Hospital participates in a limited number of PNOC’s clinical trials.
